I was bored this morning & started to listen to songs on Youtube... After about 5 failed atempts at making something decent I watched the filmclip to Sun Doesn't Rise by Mushroomhead... Theres a scarecrow with a very similar head to this... So I drew it...
Also this is my first picture done entirely in digital medium... It was fun... I'd appreciate criticism so I know what to do differently next time...
Ummm... I think it needs a background... How about you???
I can't really offer any critsism, since I've never drawn anything good with any art programs myself, but I do draw with pencil and paper, and I've drawn this pumpkin before
check it out in my gallary?

Dark for fear of failure
An inner gloom as wide as an eye and fermenting
Roiling hate
Death grip in my veins
Unveiling rancid petals
Flowering forth foul nectar
The space between a blink and a tear
Death Blooms.
i must say that's pretty good for a first totally digital piece! hehe :3 mouse or graphic tablet?
things u culd do to improve your deadly pumpkin:
1) add more dimension to his eyes and mouth. Remember that his eyes and mouth have been carved out, and his innards scooped clean out. You can show that by showing the thickness of the pumpkin rind (is that what it's called?)... skin. It's relatively thick in this type of pumpkin, so a good way to know how to draw the thickness is to go find references of jack'o lanterns :3
notice the thickness~~ and how the pumpkin is lit :3
2) it'll also be good if you work on the way you color mr pumpkin. i can understand that you're trying to show that the main light source comes from the right. maybe if you try to make the left side darker and have more distinct highlights on the right, it would be more obvious. of course, looking at good references for lighting always helps : ) observe carefully how real light interacts and affects the colors on an object. specially if you're still new at coloring.
cheers man! And all the best in practicing!
